A Collection of Liberation & Healing
Inspired by Kase.O's lyrics in "Yemen", "The Key to Your Cage" explores confinement and liberation, showing how self-expression and awareness become tools for breaking free. This collection tells a story of oppression, injustice, and transformation, reminding us that the cages we inhabit—whether mental, physical, or emotional—also hold the keys to our release.
This theme is deeply personal. As a Latin American immigrant and woman, I have inherited the wounds of violence, narcotraffic, and displacement. My father was imprisoned and extradited to the U.S. from Colombia during the War on Drugs, making themes of incarceration and survival central to my life. This collection was my first exploration of art as therapy, transforming pain into an empowering shield—a way to reclaim my story and heal through creation.
Using the reverse dye method, I print directly with bleach and color remover, using ordinary objects as stamps to create raw, textured surfaces. Functional door hardware, still intact, becomes both embellishment and symbol—representing barriers, passageways, and self-liberation.
Fashion, like armor, is both protection and expression. "The Key to Your Cage" was also the focus of my Domestika textile design course, where I teach experimental printmaking techniques and explore fashion as a tool for healing and transformation.
This collection invites the wearer to confront limitations, reclaim power, and embrace fashion as a means of storytelling and liberation.

Underground Ravewear & Resistance
Rooted in the underground techno scene, "The Key to Your Cage" is a collection built for survival, resistance, and self-liberation. Just as techno was born as a movement of defiance, this collection transforms garments into shields for the dance floor—raw, protective, and unapologetic. It embodies the energy of dark, industrial spaces, strobe-lit warehouses, and the relentless pulse of basslines that drive us forward.
Crafted primarily from denim, a material known for its durability and rebellion, the pieces feature reverse dyeing, bleach printing, and deconstructed surfaces, embracing imperfection as a mark of resilience. Door locks, keys, and metal hardware serve as both functional embellishments and symbols of entrapment and escape—reflecting the tension between control and freedom, restriction and release.
Designed to be lived in, moved in, and survived in, this collection is made for the warehouse basements, hidden club floors, and abandoned industrial spaces where techno thrives. Like the music itself, "The Key to Your Cage" is about movement, catharsis, and the necessity of self-expression as survival.
