YIYI ENGLISH | VISUAL IDENTITY & CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

Bringing Language to Life Through Visual Storytelling

YiYiEnglish is a K-12 e-learning platform with offices in Beijing, Chung Chun, and New York City. They approached me to develop a visual narrative that would enhance their platform’s learning experience while also contributing to curriculum development.

I designed a mascot character based on their logo—a panda bear—that serves as an interactive guide throughout lessons. For the "Feelings" lesson, I developed a visual system where the panda transforms to represent different emotions, using color psychology and design elements to reinforce language concepts in both English and Chinese.

  • When the panda is tired, it becomes a moon with calming lavender tones.

  • When hungry, it morphs into a bamboo leaf, symbolizing its natural instinct.

  • When feeling great, it transforms into a yellow sun, radiating energy.

Beyond design, I contributed to curriculum development, ensuring that lesson structures, activities, and visual materials aligned with effective language acquisition strategies. This project highlights the importance of visual communication in language education, creating multisensory learning experiences that improve retention and make language learning more engaging for children.
